Well, I've done it. A couple of days ago I decided to change over to cloth nappies!! Yes, shock horror, what on earth is she thinking! Or is she thinking you might ask? Well I thought my mum did it, your mum did it, so why don't I try it? They are quite easy to put on, heaps cheaper than disposables and washing/drying them doesn't take up much of my time and think of the environment issues that goes with disposables. I got my inspiration from here.
And then I thought, oh my god, I'm becoming an old fashioned mum! I'm not old enough. No way, but then my thoughts carried on. I'm wearing aprons-no one knew until now, I make the beds every morning and put pajamas under the pillows, bake cakes (currently looking for the perfect chocolate cake recipe) planning a vegetable garden, looking for a modern chicken coop design for Ian to build, pureeing home-made meals for Levi, Mondays are washing days, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are general house cleaning days including the ironing, Friday nights it's home-made pizzas from scratch in front of a DVD for the girls, Sunday is always my day of rest. And I love the Martha Stewart website for inspiration! I could go on and on.
Oh gosh, I think I'll go and pour a gin & tonic now. That adds a new dimension to the "housewife" issue, doesn't it?
Awww I don't think it's old fashioned... but then I am doing most of that stuff myself so perhaps I am in denial!! :)
