savinia...

...sadly these were our last hours on our wonderful holiday. I wish we could have had more time with Michelle and Jean-Marc at their house on a sugar cane plantation. The property is absolutely amazing.
The girls met more cousins, Zara 4 and Henry 2. We all went for a drive together, kids and guys in the back and the girls in the front. We drove through the sugar factory, smelled delicious! Then to see the cows, not so good of a smell!
Then towards the ocean on a track through the beautiful landscape, the trees had to be at least 100 years old and past the ruins of a haunted house. We saw big bats in the tree tops and stopped to stir them up, Paris loved yelling at the top of her voice without being told off!
We came to a clearing with a vacant house, very secluded. The beach was like the last frontier, raw, without human intervention. I was glad to see this part of Mauritius without the houses and hotels. We spent some time exploring the rocks and collecting our last seashells. I was in no hurry to leave! Next visit to Mauritius I would definitely like to have a picnic lunch here with the family.... hopefully not to far away.

breakfast at le morne...

...ahhh if only everyday could start like this. The girls actually wanted to sit for breakfast, I thought that they would see the pool and want to get straight in! It was a smorgasbord of everything you could possible eat for breakfast, Ella ate herself silly! And I was impressed by Paris who kept going back for more crepes. Levi just sat and stuffed his face!

We managed to stay afloat as you can see, I think we were in the pool for at least 2 hours straight!

When Ella saw this day bed in the lobby, she instantly wanted one for her room, "oh, I could sleep forever"

the cousins...

...Ian and I thought we could get some shots of Levi and his cousins, my god it was hard! I gave up after 20 shots, thank goodness I have a digital camera!

Levi is the oldest, Luca in green (they look almost like twins) and Gabriel in stripes is the youngest, Ian took the camera and put his experience into action. Aren't these shots amazing? I'm really impressed! I have a lot to learn!

l'ile aux cerfs...

...a tiny island with palm trees, white sand and beautiful waters. We drove 2 hours to have another 4 hours in the water! They hardly got out, too much fun!

playing with daisy...

...most afternoons Daisy came to visit. Levi just loved her playing with him, he would see her from the beach and run up to her. He never left the beach when I needed him, funny that!

point d'esny part 2...

...the next morning. It started early as usual, breakfast with fresh honey from Madagascar, Christian imports these most deliciously flavoured honey, love the jar, wanted one but couldn't bring it home. Then there was more swimming, more eating, I love Mauritian food. Marie-Pierre has been with the family for 18 years, she was amazing! Preparing a lunch for 10 all with a wonderful smile. Ella's confidence in snorkeling really took off she "wished the weekend could last 100 days!"
