girls: oh yeah!!!

levi: we have to get that game (said in a big excited voice)

girls: nooo way

levi: but i need to learn how to punch

me: you already know how to punch and you punch hard.

...tonight, during dinner the girls where chatting away. This was the conversation...

Paris: Swear or dare Ella (my ears prick up!)

Ella: What's that?

Paris: It's a game, I ask you swear or dare and you choose one

Ella: What's a swear?

Paris: It's a naughty word that your not allowed to say.

Ella: Like what words?

Paris: (In a loud whisper) Stupid, hate, shut up, fart

Ella giggled, she said she heard those words before. Then said loudly "SWEAR!"
and we all had a good laugh!!

IN CONVERSATION...

...the other night, coming home, tired, getting out of the car, arms full, keeping my patience with all the whinging and whining between the girls. Ella doing her usual slow as a snail thing, taking forever to step out of the car, finally is out, looks up into the sky and says "ahh look mummy, the moon came with us!"
Don't you just love it? And that put a smile on my face!

A NEW PHASE...

...is happening in our house. Paris doesn't think that she is pretty enough. She wants to "do" her hair, wants to wear make up, sucks her tummy in, tries on different clothes before making up her mind! One school mum says wait until she's 9, it's just the beginning!! If there's ads on TV for shampoo, body lotion, razors etc, she stops and watches them! This has got me thinking, how do I nurture her self esteem? To help her realise that looks are not the most important? But not to put an emphasis on being trying to be pretty at the same time.
I saw this quote on Shannon Fricke's blog and thought it was perfect. When the opportunity arose again, I sat down with her and said, do you know that "happy girls are the prettiest"? Well the girl with the big cheesy dimpled toothless grin took it on board!

Another one of Ella's classics. Recently while at a shopping center, Ella spotted a car raffle.

Ella: Look, a car for $3 Mum. Lets buy it, we need a new car.

Me: (Chuckle, chuckle) Oh Ella

Ella: It's only $3, do you have $3? I can give you some of my money.

Me: I wish it was only $3 but that's the cost of a ticket to maybe win the car in a competition. Not the real price.

Ella: Oooh

Last week Paris broke her collarbone at school, so we have had a few visits backwards and forwards to the doctors and we were talking in the car.

Me: So Paris you wont be able to go to school for a week or two.

Paris: Yipee!!

Ella: So does that mean Paris can stay home and play with me?

Me: Yes, but she'll have to rest, we wont be going anywhere.

Paris: Will it be like I'm on school holidays?

Me: Yes, just like the holidays, anyway they aren't far away.

Ella: Mummy, where are the holidays? Are they up the road or down the road?
